You Are the Universe Experiencing Itself

The universe is infinitely expanding. Already it includes black holes, galaxies, stars, planets, and even life. Without life, nothing would have the ability to perceive, or in other words, nothing would exist to acknowledge the existence of the universe. There would be no reality.  What if perception and sentience are simply the next frontier of universal expansion. The accumulation of knowledge, thought, and experience becomes part of existence... infinitely expanding.

  1. Yeah, that sounds cool. The problem is proving any of it. Not that I'm skeptical of it, just realistic on the view.

    1. Completely understandable. This is just speculation that hopefully inspires some thought

    2. It's what Dan Dennett would call a deepity. It's an ambiguous statement that has a true but trivial meaning and a deep profound but false meaning, thus giving it the illusion of being a deep and profound truth.

True & Trivial: The atoms we are made of came from the stars and other stuff that the universe is made of. Knowledge can expand. Both true and trivial.

Profound & False: We are the universe experiencing itself. Our increase in knowledge is another way in which the universe expands. The universe doesn't actually experience itself. We are just little meat bags that are a strange anomaly of the universe, not THE universe. Also the expansion of the universe and the expansion of our knowledge are two completely different things, and completely different concepts. One is a physical reality the other is an abstract concept. Both are profound but false.

    3. I'm the deepity comment guy. Didn't intend to come off as negative or condescending. I really enjoy deepitys I think they are a great way to get us looking at things from a different perspective. This is definitely one of my favorite ones. My academic nature just came on a little to strong there.
